SAVE THE MALDIVES!

“It is going to be very difficult for us to adapt to climate change issues if we do not have solid and secure democratic governance.”

- President Mohamed Nasheed, at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association’s Conference on Climate Change, London, July 2009

Activists at the Copenhagen Climate Summit admiringly declared Mohamed Nasheed "our global president." But on February 7th, this first democratically-elected president in Maldives history (and harbinger of the Arab Spring last year) was forced to resign in a coup d'etat orchestrated by security forces loyal to the former dictator. The country now faces a democracy crisis in addition to the looming threat from climate change.

Here's how you can help:

on the first weekend that it opens in their cities

• Use Facebook & Twitter to get the word out about the film
and Mohamed Nasheed's message about democracy and climate change
